keep. erfasst keine personenbezogenen Daten. Alle deine Aufnahmen, Fotos und Projekte bleiben lokal auf deinem Gerät. Es gibt kein Nutzerkonto, keine eigenen Server, kein Tracking und keine Werbung. Einzige Ausnahme: Wenn du die optionale Standort-Funktion nutzt, wird für den Ortsnamen eine Anfrage an die Ortungsdienste von Apple gestellt (Abschnitt „Standort").
Der Aufnahme-Knopf auf dem Sperrbildschirm, im Kontrollzentrum und auf der Action-Taste startet eine eigene, vom System abgeschottete Aufnahme-Erweiterung. Diese Erweiterung kann weniger als die App, nicht mehr:
Deshalb kannst du aufnehmen, ohne zu entsperren, aber nichts ansehen: Um an deine Projekte und bereits aufgenommenen Clips zu kommen, musst du das Gerät entsperren. Es werden dabei keine anderen Daten erfasst als bei einer Aufnahme in der App.
Der Aufnahmeort ist ein optionales Komfort-Merkmal und lässt sich in den App-Einstellungen jederzeit steuern. Es gibt drei Stufen:
Die Standortdaten werden lokal beim jeweiligen Clip abgelegt und von uns weder erhoben noch übertragen. Bereits ermittelte Ortsnamen werden zusätzlich lokal zwischengespeichert – gerundet auf dieselbe Genauigkeit wie die Stufe „Ungefähr“ –, damit derselbe Ort nicht mehrfach abgefragt werden muss. Dieser Zwischenspeicher wird gelöscht, sobald du die Standort-Funktion auf „Aus“ stellst.
Wichtige Ausnahme: Um einen lesbaren Ortsnamen anzuzeigen (z.B. „Berlin-Kreuzberg"), fragt die App über die Ortungsdienste von Apple eine sogenannte Rückwärts-Geokodierung an. Dabei werden die – je nach Einstellung gerundeten – Koordinaten an Apple übermittelt. Das ist die einzige Stelle, an der die App Daten das Gerät verlassen lässt. Es gelten die Datenschutzbestimmungen von Apple. Steht die Standort-Einstellung auf „Aus", findet auch das nicht statt.
Die App fragt diese Berechtigungen nur an, wenn du die jeweilige Funktion nutzt.
Es findet keine Übertragung an uns statt. Die App enthält keine Analyse-, Werbe- oder Tracking-SDKs, hat keine eigenen Server und baut zu solchen auch keine Verbindung auf. Die einzige Netzwerkanfrage der App ist die im Abschnitt „Standort" beschriebene Rückwärts-Geokodierung über Apple – und die entfällt, wenn du die Standort-Funktion ausschaltest.
In den Einstellungen gibt es einen Feedback-Knopf. Er sendet nichts, sondern öffnet deine Mail-App mit einem vorbereiteten Entwurf: unsere Adresse als Empfänger und – am Ende der Nachricht – App-Version, iOS-Version und Gerätemodell (z.B. „iPhone17,1“). Du siehst den vollständigen Text vor dem Absenden, kannst ihn ändern oder löschen, und der Entwurf wird nur verschickt, wenn du das tust. Schreibst du uns, erhalten wir deine Absenderadresse und den Inhalt deiner Nachricht – wie bei jeder E-Mail. Wir nutzen das ausschließlich zur Beantwortung deiner Anfrage.
Keine. Wenn du ein exportiertes Video selbst über das Teilen-Menü deines Geräts weitergibst, unterliegt das den Bestimmungen des jeweiligen Dienstes – das liegt außerhalb von keep.
Du kannst Clips und Projekte jederzeit in der App löschen. Sie wandern zunächst in den Papierkorb (Einstellungen → Papierkorb) und lassen sich von dort wiederherstellen; nach 30 Tagen werden sie samt ihrer Videodateien endgültig entfernt. Über „Papierkorb leeren“ geht das auch sofort. Beim Deinstallieren der App werden alle lokal gespeicherten Daten vom Gerät entfernt.
Die App ist für ein allgemeines Publikum bestimmt und erhebt wissentlich keine Daten von Kindern.

keep. collects no personal data. All your recordings, photos and projects stay local on your device. There is no user account, no servers of our own, no tracking and no advertising. One exception: if you use the optional location feature, a request is made to Apple's location services to resolve the place name (see "Location").
The record button on the Lock Screen, in Control Centre and on the Action button launches a separate capture extension that the system keeps sandboxed. It can do less than the app, not more:
That is why you can record without unlocking but cannot look at anything: reaching your projects and existing clips requires unlocking the device. No data beyond what an in-app recording collects is captured.
Capture location is an optional convenience feature you can control at any time in the app's settings. There are three levels:
Location data is stored locally with the clip. We neither collect nor transmit it. Place names already resolved are additionally cached on your device — rounded to the same precision as the “Approximate” setting — so the same spot isn’t looked up twice. That cache is cleared as soon as you set the location feature to “Off”.
One important exception: to show a readable place name (e.g. "Berlin-Kreuzberg"), the app performs a reverse geocoding request through Apple's location services. This sends the — depending on your setting, rounded — coordinates to Apple. It is the only point at which the app lets any data leave your device, and Apple's privacy terms apply to it. With the location setting turned off, this does not happen either.
There is no transmission to us. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, has no servers of its own and makes no connection to any. Its only network request is the reverse geocoding described under "Location" — and that stops entirely if you turn the location feature off.
Settings has a feedback button. It sends nothing — it opens your mail app with a prepared draft: our address as the recipient and, at the end of the message, your app version, iOS version and device model (e.g. “iPhone17,1”). You see the full text before sending, can edit or delete any of it, and the draft goes out only if you send it. If you do write to us, we receive your sender address and the content of your message, as with any email. We use it solely to answer you.
None. If you choose to share an exported video via your device's share sheet, that is governed by the receiving service and is outside of keep.
You can delete clips and projects anytime in the app. They go to the trash first (Settings → Trash) and can be restored from there; after 30 days they and their video files are removed for good. “Empty Trash” does the same immediately. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from the device.
The app is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect data from children.
